FULL Q&A

Q: When should I arrive for my shoot?

A: Just like a Dr appointment or Interview you should arrive on time for your appointment, if not early. The photographer may have more than one photo shoot scheduled for the day and arriving late may cause you to not be able to take advantage of the full length of time that your shoot was booked for. If for any reason you are going to be late, please be sure to notify your photographer as soon as you can so that plans can be changed accordingly or possibly reschedule if necessary.

Q: What should I bring?

A: What you should bring really depends on the agreement with the photographer. IF you have not booked a shoot that includes hair and makeup you should arrive with your hair and most of your makeup already completed (of course touch ups may be needed after travel). Travel in comfortable clothes but have your first outfit ready to change into as soon as you get to the studio. Bring your alternate clothing options along as well. They should be pressed and grouped by outfit to make it easier to make wardrobe changes. Make sure you bring any hair and makeup products you may need for touch-ups or changes to your look. if you have specific props that you want to use with your shoot, please be sure not to forget them.

Q: Do you provide a HUMA (hair and makeup artist)?

A: Sveinn Photography does not provide HMUAs (unless noted as part of a package, promotion, or workshop). HMUAs can be hired at an additional cost, for your shoot. A list is provided here on our website of people that we have worked with in the past and recommend. Each HMUA will have their own pricing, so we can not quote you any exact numbers on how much they may charge. (please also be aware that not all may do both hair and makeup so you may need to hire two separate people to achieve the look you want).

Q:Can I bring someone with me?

A: You are always welcome to bring someone with you to your shoot. Please be aware though that this is YOUR shoot, so be sure that whomever you bring along will be supportive and encouraging, yet remain in the background as to not be distracting to the photographer and disrupt your shoot. A waiting area is available for our clients guests. (please  limit your guests to one or two people and no small children unless previously discussed with the photographer)

Q: Is coaching/consulting available?

A: If you are doing a photo shoot in a specific style or are a beginning model then you may want some coaching (outside of that provided by the photographer). Coaching/consulting may be available upon request. Coaching would be provided at an additional cost to be determined by the coach. This may include pre-shoot (for example wardrobe, hair style, makeup style, etc) as well as during shoot coaching (poses, facial expression, styling).  Sveinn Photography only works with coaches from our previously established list (provided upon request).

Q: How will I get my photos?

A: The proofs of your shoot will be provided to you via an email link. This link will direct you to a password protected folder on the Sveinn Photography web site where you can view your proofs. Proofs are the pre-edited images where you would select your final choices to be edited. Sveinn photography does not provide pre-edited images for download or sharing on social networking sites. You will have access to these images after you have made your final selections in case you decide that you would like additional images edited (additional charges may apply) Final edits will be provided in a separate folder for viewing upon completion and prints may be ordered from there.

Q: How long will it take to get my proofs?

A: It will take approximately 5- 7 business days to get your proofs (this may be a few days more or less dependant upon photographers schedule, holidays, etc).

Q: How long till I get my finished images?

A: You will receive your finished images within 10-14 business days after Sveinn Photography has been notified of your final choices for editing. (rush edits may be available upon request at an additional charge).

Q: Do you have a set price for photo shoots?

A: Each shoot is tailored specifically to each client, there is a general pricing for shoots, if you would like send an email to [email protected] for the pricelist. Costs will be determined upon consultation and an estimate will be provided. There are many factors that go into determining the cost of a photo shoot.

Q:Do you do location shoots?

A: Yes. Location shoots are available. Pricing to be determined depending on if the photographer is providing the location of if the client is as well as distance, travel time, and if specialized props such as vehicles are requested.

Q: Are food, beverages, etc provided?

A: Food and additional beverages may be included in certain packages and workshops. Otherwise please bring your own snacks, beverages, etc if you feel that you will need or like them at the time of the shoot. (food and beverages (other than water) will not be allowed in the “work/shooting” areas of the studio)

Q: Can I get all the RAW files or Unedited images (proofs)?

A: No, it is not our policy to release unedited images. We will happily provide you with any additional images from your shoot that you would like to have edited at a very reasonable additional cost. (proofs are available on line through your proof gallery for 6 months).

Q: Can I print my own photos?

A: We recommend ordering your photos from Sveinn Photography (as that way we can guarantee the quality of your prints), but if you would like to print your own photos the rights to the images are available at a per image cost. (if you do not already have a hi-resolution agreement in advance)

Q:Can I (or someone I know) make changes, crop, etc my photos?

A: Unless previously agreed upon, no changes are to be made to images by the client. This includes, cropping, color change/ filters, removal of the watermark, etc (with the exception of instagram). If you would like additional alterations made to your photos please ask as we may be able to accommodate your request.

Q: How long is your average shoot?

A: There is really no such thing as an average shoot. Sveinn Photography tailors each shoot to each client depending on their photography needs. A shoot can be as short as a half hour or as long as 8 hours depending on what the client is looking for. That is why a consultation is necessary before booking.
